Hey family,

Working late and loving it. I keep thinking about one of our "Good" Marines that didn't get promoted, and because he was not promoted he had to get out of the Marine Corps. Well, that is the short story.

There was something to be learned from that. To some degree it does not matter how well you do your job if there are other just like you that can do the same job. What will help a person keep their job is doing his job well and being able to do other jobs.

There are a couple of things that this base offers that will help make you a little more special: The SACO course; The MCMAP instructor course. These things are right under our noses. Think about taking them. That is two more educational things the military can benefit from by keeping you around it your take those courses.

I want to spotlight one of our Marines. Capt McGleinnaiss offered to pay his own way to fly to CA to take a class that would not only make himself more valuable to the Corps, but even more special than that, he would be more valuable to Wounded Warriors. He made it to the class and is now able to help the Marines from a legal perspective, with their medical paper work. That is just an example of how one becomes special, beyond Marine Corps expectations.

I am not real good at beating around the bush.

Jesus use to say "I Tell You The Truth"; When he was trying to "Drive" a point home. I like trying to be like HIM.

I tell you the truth!

Think about doing some thinks beyond the Marine Corp expectations. When they start promotion and or cutting back, your chances are greater for things to be in your favor. If for some reason you have to use or you decide to just use some of your leave to take a course, "How wonderful will that look on your Fit-Rep.

It still hurts my heart thinking about that good Marine being discharged.

I hope you all enjoy this perfect weekend!

PS
Just so you don't think I am talking you to death.

Here are of my own personal examples.

When I was dropped to the IRR I use to drive five hour in each direction to drill and knew I would not get paid for the miles or the drill. I did it for free just to be a part of a team. It paid off!

When I worked at Wal-Mart, and was only getting two weeks of vacation. I took one week to help build houses in NOLA, after Katrina hit.

Very Important!!

Two things happen here. Even when I was trying to be my best, and even when everything was going my way, I don't let it everything become all about me.

Your Motives are "Equally as Impotant!

I really don't like to write or type, but I feel a need to shear the love me all have inside us. I hope someone picks this up when I leave. I just hope it made a little difference in this world that seems to be showing even less love as the years go by.

In HIM,

Vacation time will work for these courses too! That not a joke. I hope I am not too hard.

Special Note: The Primary reason he took the course was so he could help the WII!
