During this year's National Defense Transportation Association Annual Forum, members of the commercial trucking industry requested my assistance in spreading the word that the industry is short approximately 30,000 drivers and they are seeking veterans in good standing.
I am seeking your assistance to help connect members who have proudly served in your organizations with our commercial partners who proudly serve the nation every day. The attached memorandum has some specifics on what the states are doing to aid members making the transition from military to civilian commercial careers. Please feel free to pass this along to your transition centers and other forums in your communities to reach our experienced veterans transitioning to civilian life.
