Adam's SMART Goal for the Fall 2008 Semester:
For this semester, I would like to help drive the Project forward by
being an active leader in the group. I feel that in the past we have
had things that may have clouded our goals or that have stepped in our
way and we have been discouraged by this. This semester, I would like
to welcome those new challenges (or "red tape" as it has been called)
and deal with each of those situations accordingly by either resolving
the issue with the person or finding another way to go about the issue
(ex. royalties with the T-shirts). I believe a large part of this will
be staying focused myself and also providing others with the goal
orientation, motivation, and youthful enthusiasm that drives people
and this Project forward.
Additionally, I would like to see the Project in possession of a space
by December 8, 2008 and have a layout for our processor for that
space. Matthew seems hopeful that we will be able to attain a space
here soon, so this should be achievable. We should theoretically also
have a layout started for this specific space shortly after we begin
negotiations for the space. Ideally, I would like to see our first
batch of biodiesel produced by the end of the '08-'09 academic year.
Since I have little knowledge on the engineering side of this, I will
try to help as much as I can by tasking and providing support.
Transitioning into the publicist's role, this semester I would like to
hold at least one public event per month where we would have stickers,
Project information, and members available for questions. This will
hopefully increase our influence within both the student body and the
faculty. Also, I will be creating a flyer to post up around the 3 main
WVU campuses that explains our mission statement and calls for new,
caring, and active members to join our team. This flyer should be
ready for a critique by the September 10 meeting.
The website's layout has been completed; however, the content still
needs to be plugged in. I hope to get in touch with Alex Stanton to
complete what content (eg. text, some photos, etc) needs to be done
for the website and put the website up by the October 22 meeting. In
accordance with the website, I would like to keep the blog updated and
rolling with at least 1-2 posts per month on the project's activities
and events.
Now that the Calendars have come to an epic printing close, I would
like to hand a select few out to important university officials that
will ideally get them aware of the Project and the happenings within.
This task will be done by creating a list of "important university
officials" and then handing them out by the end of September.
Unofficially, I would like to put stickers up around campus in visible
locations. This goal will retain its ambiguity for the sake of public
viewing on the group...
Looking over the Project's business plan, I have noticed that it needs
to be updated. I will take this document and update it to our current
specifications by including more detail and correct grammar, et all,
by October 8.
This list will be ever updating throughout the semester and I hope to
scratch off each one of these goals as the semester progresses.
Cheers!
