Learn about green building design and development from the Vice-Chair
of Green Advantage, a national green building certification
organization. You will emerge from the class with a sound
understanding of green buildings and sustainable
neighborhoods......what they are and how to achieve them. The book
is Green Development from the Rocky Mountain Institute...a great text
full of very useful case studies and green information.
Sustainability Studies 3 hours ID 493N CRN 86886
Take a look at global sustainability issues from the 30,000 foot
perspective. We'll review issues around energy, agriculture, water
and population and discuss current philosophies and approaches. A
reading/discussion format will be used.
Both courses are taught by Chris Haddox. Chris is a LEED Accredited
Professional and is Green Advantage Certified. His interest in green
building and sustainable design came about through his 9.5 year tenure
as Executive Director of Mon County Habitat for Humanity.
