All,

I'm proud to announce we'll be hosting a code retreat for the Global Day of Code Retreat on December 8th at Fairmont State University's Falcon Student Center beginning at 9 AM and running until about 5. The event is completely free for developers of all skill levels and all languages.

What's a code retreat? A code retreat is a great way to improve your craft by pair programming with other developers who are passionate about their craft. The day includes 4 or 5 pairing sessions where pairs implement Conway's Game of Life while practicing solid design principles. The session lasts about 45 minutes, and then the pairs switch up and repeat. Each session will have it's own challenges, and everyone will walk away with a new and refreshing look on programming. Promise.

The event is sponsored by IMTS, the WVHTC Foundation, and several other local technology groups. The global day is sponsored by O'Reilly Publishing the Pragmatic Programmers publishing. There will be a few door prizes, coffee, and a free lunch.

Want to know more? Take a look at the event page at: http://wvcoderetreat2012.eventbrite.com. Please RSVP to help us get a head count for food! If you have any questions, send me an email and let me know. If you'd like a flier, reply and let me know so that I can avoid spamming the whole mailing list with a 1 MB JPG.

Let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you there.

Best regards,

Kel Cecil
