Hey all:

I realize that some of you weren't on this mailing list previously;
John and I fixed that problem at yesterday's meeting.

On to the point of this email. David Krovich and the officers had a
discussion of several points which John will be emailing to this list
shortly. One of those I'd like to discuss myself. It's interesting to
note how participation fluctuates; I take it upon myself to an extent,
and also it seems that we can't lock in a meeting time. Well, now we're
going to lock in a meeting time. So, how about this?

The WVU chapter of the ACM will meet once a month for the
general meetings as-normal.

What's new: on the weeks where the WVU ACM does NOT meet for the
general meeting, we will still 'meet' to hold social activities and
other help. For example, someone could come up to me at one of these
meetings and ask 'Well, Jy, I have no idea how to set up a SMTP
server.' Well, I do, and I'll help you out. Part of being in a
professional society is having a network of contacts that will help you
if you ask; that's what we're trying to do here. Also, if members have
skills that they think will be useful, the floor will be open to you.
Furthermore, David Krovich has stated that he will attend these
meetings along with other members of our systems staff, and will listen
to requests from you, the users.

Also, these meetings will be at 5pm on Tuesdays, barring cases where we
absolutely cannot schedule a room for that time. John and Elliott will
get back to this email with the specific room.

I'd love feedback on this from both current and former members.
