Great meeting tonight! Don't forget you can check the Twitter page
and Google+, and this google group which is functioning as our mailing list. I'll have a specific time of
when we're meeting next week by this weekend! I look forward to a
productive semester, hurray open source!
I'm not adding minutes for this week, as it was just sort of an informational meet and greet, but we'll probably be keeping a record of the next meeting so we can post online for people who miss it.
Keep in mind, we need two more officers to make it an official group, so if anyone is interested in becoming a secretary or treasurer, go ahead and email me (crhr...@mix.wvu.edu) or just show up at the next meeting and nominate yourself. I'm okay for rolling along without official status as we get rolling, but we'd really benefit from the funding that would come from being an official student org.
Coming up sometime next month, I'd like to plan an Install Fest, a "Learning Linux 101" workshop, and David Krovich our advisor has planned a talk on our internal campus distro, LOUD. As we get rolling, I'd like to encourage you guys to think about some projects for which you'd like to get involved in a bugfixing party (bugsquash). Remember, nothing technical is required to participate in any of these events. If you know nothing about coding, you can still contribute to open source.
See you guys next week, and i'll post it in the usual places as soon as I have a specific room reserved.
