Restoring old data

I recently found an old copy of wview-archive.sdb which covers from about July 2010 until May 1, 2012 that I thought I'd lost. 
I plan to import that into my current database which starts about May 5, 2012 upto now.

I know that if I delete the wview-hilow.sdb and wview-noaa.sdb databases wview will recreate them but I wonder if I don't
delete them will wview back fill them with the old data that I add to wview-archive.sdb?

On further reading I discovered that had I left the original hilow file in place it would have been overwritten so the only real option was to nuke it and
let wview recreate!  Now have data from July 2010 to current with a couple small holes of a day or two......
