I have recently a new site and am having issues getting the
wunderground refresh rate to change from 30 minutes. I have read
several posts on the matter, and compared my sqlite configuration
database to one which is refreshing at 5 minutes - I can't tell what
needs to change. The current settings are:

STATION_PUSH_INTERVAL : 30
HTMLGEN_GENERATE_INTERVAL : 5
FTP_INTERVAL : 5
STATION_ARCHIVE_INTERVAL : 5

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Tom

I'm having the exact same problem with my efforts to update Weather
Underground.

The wview (5.19.0) manual says that the "Archive Interval" governs the
frequency of updates to Weather Underground. I've set mine to 5
minutes, but, like Tom, I've never had an update at anything other
than 30 minutes. I've used the wview management console to set it to 5
minutes, I've used the command line to set it to 5. I've done a wview
restart, a wview stop/start, and every indication is that the archive
interval is set to 5 minutes, except that WU only gets 30 minute
updates.

Thanks for any advice,

Marc A. Criley

Ok,

Took a bit, but finally figured it out for the Vantage Pro with
weather Envoy (non-display head)

The Station archive interval is determined by the Vantage Pro unit
itself, NOT the configuration value. With the vantage pro, you either
need to set the archive interval on the display unit or via the
VPCONFIG utility. With the Weather Envoy, you have to use the
VPCONFIG utility. When setting the values, you also need to set the
station lat/long and elevation so they will display properly on the
HTML generated pages. The VPCONFIG utility is nice in that it gives
you good status info from the Vantage Pro unit.

Certainly not clear...

Thanks Tom, vpconfig worked on my Vantage Vue unit. The console itself
gave no option to set the archive interval, so your suggestion of
vpconfig was my last hope.

The docs and help for it say that, for Linux, the stationdev parameter
should be one of /dev/ttyS0 - /dev/ttyS4. That didn't look right to
me, and looking through the wviewmgmt displays I saw that my
connection was /dev/ttyUSB0, which makes sense. And sure enough, going
through that port gave access to the station just fine.

Thanks for tracking this down.

As discussed in the User Manual, you cannot have an archive database
with multiple archive intervals. If you have old records at 30 minute
intervals you will need to:
1) Stay with 30 minutes --or--
2) Delete all records with a 30 minute interval

Given you haven't shared your station type, I will guess that you do not
have a Vantage Pro. If you did, you would need to set archive interval,
LAT/LON/ELEV in the console using vpconfig or directly on the console.
This is in the UM too.
