David, let us know if you start seeing any new folks wanting to join WVDXA after the State Radio Convention.
Regarding Clublog, it has no official status in the ARRL DXCC program. It really does not matter if you count the DXCC confirmation in Clublog before or after it is officially checked. However, if you want your ARRL and Clublog totals to match up, you could wait until the card is checked before showing it confirmed on Clublog.
DXCC being an ARRL program, nothing formally counts except what is shown on their records, which means the card must be checked by the official checker and you have to apply for the credit via a DXCC application.
Glad to see you on there and racking up QSO’s.

Subject: [WVDXA] Re: Rookie question about QSL cards
All,
I believe I've found the answer to the question I posed last week - and it was a newbie error, indeed!
After a conversation with Steve WW8RT over the weekend, I realized that all this time I had been assuming Clublog, like LOTW, would only count "verified" QSLs. However, after some discussion with Steve, I learned that ClubLog does *not* verify QSLs - you can just upload an ADIF file to ClubLog claiming anything you want! I was blown away by this. Consequently, I exported an ADIF file from my log with just the Bouvet and Sri Lanka contacts, marked as verified, and uploaded it to ClubLog. Now my ClubLog DXCC totals match my LOTW totals! In the future I guess I'll just have to manually upload QSLs to ClubLog that are verified by cards (rather than by matches in the LOTW system).
Two questions for you all:
1. Is this how you get the QSLs you've confirmed with cards into ClubLog? You upload them manually?
2. What is the community norm about claiming credit for QSL cards in ClubLog? Should I list the QSL in ClubLog as soon as I have the card in hand, or wait until after it's been through the ARRL card checking process first?

PS. I'm still not sure why my QSL cards aren't being included in the LOTW => ClubLog sync of QSLs. But after my discussion with Steve, my guess now is that LOTW manages "matched" QSLs separately from QSL Cards, and ClubLog only knows how to sync the "matched" QSLs.

WVDXA,
I recently submitted my first QSL cards (and had them approved!) and have two questions about what happens next. I would appreciate any insights you can provide as I just can't figure this out! I feel like I'm making a rookie mistake of some kind, so please set me straight.
A little context. For some reason I never got a LOTW QSL from Bouvet. So at our last WVDXA meeting Hal graciously checked my Bouvet QSL card for me (and another card from Sri Lanka). The QSL cards shows up in LOTW (here's Bouvet as an example):
My Bouvet and Sri Lanka contacts show up under the Awarded Credits section of my DXCC Award Account on LOTW. However, when I look up either callsign through the LOTW search function, the contact does NOT show as being confirmed. Again here's Bouvet as an example:
So my first question is - is this the way it's supposed to work? That I can see the QSL card, and the contact shows up in the award, but the QSO doesn't show as being confirmed? (My Sri Lanka QSO is behaving the same way.)
Second question - neither my Bouvet nor my Sri Lanka contacts show up in ClubLog (which I sync with LOTW). Is there a way to get ClubLog to recognize these contacts that are confirmed via QSL cards?
Many thanks!
