WOOF! The 6-M band has really
been hopping over the last few days. I could not participate today
as I had a medical appointment in Kanawha City but I saw that my
station did decode the China station that Hal, W8HC, and Bart, WT8V,
both worked - while I was in the shower!!
On Tuesday I did work a
New One (EU1KY, Belarus - already
confirmed) for Country No. 167 on the Magic Band. The band was so
hot I decided to give out WV and EM98 so I actually called "CQ DX"
(which I hardly ever do.) I worked 138 QSO's (mostly EU) and then
Wednesday I worked another 86 QSO's. This helped my Grid Totals as
yesterday I had a period where I worked 12 New Grids in 1 hour, and
11 New Grids the rest of the day.
I downloaded my LoTW confirmations and find that I now have 1,160
Grids Worked on 6-M and 1,115 Confirmed.
WHEEEEE! It's
hard to remember when I was struggling to just get my first 100
Grids for the VUCC Award.
On Saturday I managed to work one of the last 27 Grids (out of the
488 in the Continental US) that I need for the FFMA award. Then
last night, I worked another. That leaves me only needing 25 Grids.
Below is my Grid Map. The Grids shown in White are what I still
need to work. All the rest of the USA is Confirmed. Blue means it
was a Paper QSL and the DM56 shown in Gold means I am waiting on a
Paper QSL from him.
It has been a LONG DRY SPELL on 6-M but now things are cooking. I
hope everyone who wants to can get in on the fun!
