WB8CQV Kanawha County Repeater Systems Update

I have made some changes to some of my repeaters that may be of interest to you.

 

All the repeaters are in Kanawha County, WV and are listed below:

 

147.21 MHz in South Charleston. It is a dual mode repeater. With FM and Yeasu C4FM digital capabilities. It is connected to the Wires-X network ( Node ID 93294 and Room ID 03294) on the internet with all the capabilities Wires-X brings to the table. On FM the access tone is 203.5 Hz. 

 

146.88 MHz in South Charleston with an access tone of 203.5 Hz or CSQ (carrier operated squelch i.e.: no tone required. ) However, please program your radio by default to use the 203.5 Hz access tone because some of the remote voted receivers require it. CSQ is primarily for out-of-area mobiles traveling through the South Charleston area. 

 

146.82 MHz on Bee Mountain near Hernshaw WV with an access tone of 203.5 Hz 

 

444.95 MHz in South Charleston with an access tone of 203.5 Hz 

 

444.700 MHz on Bee Mountain near Hernshaw WV with an access tone of 203.5 Hz 

 

29.6 MHz near Charleston WV with an access tone of 203.5 Hz is under maintenance currently. Hopefully, it will be back on the air later this year.

 

The 444.700 MHz and the 29.6 MHz Repeaters are not linked to anything and are stand-alone repeaters. Linking capabilities for these repeaters are in the future. 

 

The 146.88, 146.82, and 444.95 repeaters are linked. But, if for some reason it is necessary, they can be unlinked at any time and assigned to be stand alone or individually linked to something else.

 

Right now, the 146.88, 146.82, and 444.95 repeaters are,  by default, connected to the ARA, AllStarlink (Node number 68192), Echolink (Node number  127341) except between 10:30AM and 12 noon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. During that time on MWF the ARA link is dropped, and repeaters are automatically linked to the Greenbrier Valley "Coffee Net ". The Echolink and AllStarlink connections are retained during this time, and you are welcome to use Echolink or AllStarlink as well as FM to check in. The "Coffee Net " is a directed Net, and you can check in when Net Control asks for Kanawha Valley or WB8CQV Repeater check-ins. Typically, you will not be heard if you try to transmit at other times. Remember, it is a linked system. The proper protocol on linked systems is to is to key your microphone, wait 3 seconds then talk. If you don't succeed, try again when the Net Control asks once more for Kanawha Valley or WB8CQV check-ins.

At the end of the "Coffee Net " (12 noon) the repeater system will automatically return normal use and re-link to the ARA.

 

In the future, I can program one or all these repeaters to link to other repeaters or systems as required for nets or emergency response. I can change the configuration or disable any repeater remotely. Please let me know of any interest in linking to other systems or repeaters. Or if you have other things in mind that would be of interest to be hosted on the repeaters.
