I am forwarding this news from an email sent to members of the Carolina DX Association, Lou's "home club". 

As you know, Lou also had close ties to our WVDXA and joined our email reflector back in December following his

appointment as Roanoke Division DXAC Representative.

May Lou's memory be a blessing to all who knew him...

Dear DX'ers,

Hilda Dietrich reached out earlier today with this message.

"It's with deep sadness that we share the news of Lou Dietrich's passing. He passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by love. He was comfortable and at peace"

Lou was a wonderful husband, father, DX'er and friend who will be deeply missed. He brought so much joy & fun to our lives, and we'll forever cherish our memories of him.

Details about a memorial service or celebration of life will be shared in the coming days. We appreciate your thoughts and support during this difficult time.

  I always enjoyed talking with Lou. He was always willing to help . I was fortunate to get work him on many dxpeditions.
