Update on KF8EXX's Progress

Pat, KF8EXX, continues to be very active on the bands.  He operated for KARC in Field Day and made 219 CW QSO's for them!

On June 22nd I posted to the WVDXA a photo of the 4-element 6-M yagi he erected AFTER DARK!

Just 2 days later he dug a hole, mixed 7 bags of Quickcrete, and put up the antenna and rotor on a couple of sections of tower (most of this work by himself!)




This new location for his 6-M antenna has proved to be VERY good.  Remember, he is running ONLY 100-watts!

He now has 14 Countries worked on 6-M and 10 Confirmed:

Now that he is operational not only on CW and SSB but on FT8 as well, his QSO rate is running about 37 QSO's per day.  All barefoot!

He has CONFIRMED All States on CW, 49 on Phone, and 48 on CW.  So, he only needs 3 more confirmations to have the Triple Play Award.  Those last 3 states have been worked more than once each but no confirmations yet.




He has achieved a Mixed DXCC and is not far from a CW, Phone, and Digital DXCC.  Again, with JUST 100-watts and simple antennas.  And, in 2 more days, it will just be 4 weeks since he began operating on FT8!




All this has been done in just 39 weeks!  WOWZER!



It is SOOOO Much FUN to watch someone having such success with ham radio!  It gets my juices flowing for sure!

Thanks to all !! It’s been a blast 💥! At night on CW when I start transmitting somebody will spot me and within a minute I’ll be getting hammered with a big pileup. Lots of Russian stations and lots of European stations as well ! Cw is very much ALiVE ! 73 to everyone !
