Yesterday Mike KD8GWH and I traveled in my truck to Cynthiana KY to pick up a BIG  6 meter amplifier from the estate of W9DR, who became SK in January.    Dave Ridge was very active on 6 meters and most of us have worked him from the Islands his annual 6M DXpeditions.
Dave was also a member of the "Big Signal" 6M Group, which regularly met on SSB.  He ran this amp into two stacked  M2 9 element yagis.

The QTH was in horse country north of Lexington.  Beautiful drive.  There are not many gas stations in that country.  Fortunately,  I was able to find a station before it was too late!
We were delayed returning home due to a car accident which blocked traffic just as we hit the road coming home.   This delayed us about 40 minutes so it was after 9PM when we got home.   Fortunately, the rain held off until today.  Using my trusted dolly, I unloaded the amp from the truck last night in the dark ahead of the predicted rain.   All is good.

The amp runs a YC-156/3CPX5000.  I am not sure how much power it is currently configured to run, it all depends on the power supply, which I have not looked at yet.   From the weight of the power supply, it is likely not capable of running all the tube will do.  I have 2 or 3 transformers here that are heavier, so would guess this amp was likely used at the 5 to 6 KW level, max.  It should do well on EME.

I quick inspection did not reveal missing parts.  The odds favor it will be a check out and operate situation, but we will see.   It is well constructed; I don't see obvious issues.   W9DR was using this but he did not build it.  The amp was made by someone in Georgia.   I will send pictures later.

The W9DR antennas are already removed.   I did not see any other major equipment, but I did not go outside of the garage. Some stuff will be at Dayton and some has already been sold.

I am well pleased with the condx of this and look forward to checking it out and firing it up.

Many thanks to KD8GWH for the help on this trip.    Also thanks to N8DX who tipped me off about the amp availability and putting me in touch with the seller.

This will run on the Green Machine power supply, which I may do.   We will see.

Congratz on getting the amp and getting it home and inside before the rains. Sounds like your 6 meter count should be climbing.  Good luck with it and the DX.
