2025 WV Scholastic Chess League

Good Morning, 

I am happy to announce the 2025 WV Scholastic Chess League.  It will be held at the St. Francis of Assisi, Parish Center in St. Albans.   

The dates are:

Jan 25, 2025 - League Play

Feb 1, 2025 - League Play

Feb 22. 2025 -  League individual Championship

The entry fee to play is $20. A US Chess Federation membership is required and that currently is $20.  The membership needs to be current through the end of February 2025.

Play will begin at 10 AM and request that players check in before 9:45AM.  Coaches can check in entire teams.  Teams of no more than 5 can be created and the top 3 scores will be used.  On Jan 25, and Feb 1, there will be three rounds.  This will be treated as a six (6) round tournament. Trophies will be given to the top five (5) teams in K-5 section, top three (3) HS and top three (3) MS teams for league/Teams play.

February 22, 2025 will be an individual championship.  Exact details of that day will be provided once the league begins.  

We will be announcing the Championship details in the next few weeks.  

You can use this form to register and use PayPal to pay for the league fees.   Checks will need to be made out to WVSCA.  

You can mail registration to my house, but I prefer you register and pay online.
