Chess Days and other events

Hi Everyone,

The Kanawha County Public Library is holding a World Chess Day event on July 19 at the downtown main office.  It will go from 1PM to 3PM.  Elijah Schultz will be leading events.  This is on the WV Chess, WVSCA, Kanawha Public Library websites.  Registration is required.  Please go to  Celebrate World Chess Day! | Kanawha County Public Library (kcpls.org) to sign-up.  Space is limited.  

The US Chess Federation Chess Day is on Saturday, October 12.  We will hold a Chess Day tournament at St. Francis of Assisi that day.  I have attached the flyer for your reference.  There will be sections for everyone.  Scholastic Unrated, Scholastic Rated, and Open.  In the scholastic unrated, trophies will be awarded to the top 3 in each category as well as a 1 year membership.  

There are several other tournaments being held over the next several months.

• The Italian Heritage Festival Open and Scholastic on August 24. 
• The Thomas Bergquist Memorial State Championship on Sept 14-15. 

Please share this and we are looking for great turnouts for all the events.
