2024 Chess League

Hi Everyone, 

It's time to begin registering for the 2024 Chess League.  I have attached a document, summarized below to help with registration.  We are tryingi to use chessregister.com to help make things more efficient.

The WV Scholastic chess league is beginning.  The first day of Team play is Jan 27.  The 2^nd team day is Feb 3.  On Feb 18 will be an individual tournament. 

This year we are using chessregister.com to handle registrations.  If you go to chessregister.com and scroll down to Jan 27, you will see two entries to register your players. One is labeled “WVSCA – Chess League Team Registration”.  This will be used to enter a team from 2 to 5 players.  If you don’t have a team and want to play, use the one labeled “WVSCA – Chess League – individual…”. 

When entering a team, you will see the screen below.  Enter your first player’s name. If you don’t know the US Chess ID, you can look it up using the Find my IDs button.  Please include the coach’s email and phone number.  

Choose your section and enter the Team name in the “Team Name or Captain” field.

In the rows below, enter the first name, last name and US Chess ID.  You must enter at least three players in the rows.  If you don’t have three players to enter, put in a fictitious name.  Using “Player” as the first name and “Three” as the last name and enter 111111111 as the US Chess ID (it has to be 8 digits). 

When you click next, it will show the players that are being registered.  It will only charge you for one player.  The entry fee for the league is $20 per player.  You can pay using PayPal or have a check made out to WVSCA and mail to 811 Hughes Dr. St. Albans, WV  25177 

There is an individual tournament on Feb 18.
