 54th ANNUAL WV SCHOLASTIC CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS  

To be held on March 15, 2025 at the   

  At WV State University, Wilson Student Union, Institute, West Virginia  

UNEXPIRED USCF MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED TO REGISTER.  

 

Team and individual trophies.  

SECTIONS:  

                     PR (K-3)                                      EL (K-5)                                      MS (K-8)                                    HS (K-12)

A team’s score is base d on the top 4 performing players per team. All players on a team must be from the same school.  The maximum number of players on a team is 5.  If a school as 10 or more players, then the school must form multiple teams. If a school has multiple teams, then each team should have at least 4 players           •           Number of rounds will be posted on www.wvsca.com after registration ends on March 12.

o   Top WV 9-12 Champion – Nominee to Denker National Tournament of HS Championships.

o   Top WV 6-8 Champion – Nominee to Barber National Tournament of MS State Champions.

o   Top rated WV Female Player – Nominee to Haring Tournament of Girls Champions.

o   Top K-5 Player – Nominee to Rockefeller National Tournament of Elementary School State Champions

  ****** IMPORTANT ****** 

WHAT TO BRING TO TOURNAMENT: chess clock, and pen/pencil. MS and HS Sections are required to record moves.

Digital/Delay Clocks only in K-8, K-12 sections

 

CHECK-IN: 7:45-8:30am Saturday.  You must be checked in to be paired in first round. Check-in immediately upon entering the building. Coaches may check-in whole team.
