The Senior Championship will be held November 4, 2023, in Bridgeport. The winner will be our representative to the USCF Irving Senior state v state championship held in conjunction with the US Open in Norfolk, Va this coming August.

Jimmy Fuller has won the last three, please bring your best game to Bridgeport in two weeks and give him a try. Bob Greer

2 Sections (age as of December 31, 2023): Senior Championship (50 & older only), Adult U1800 (ages 18 and up; under 18 allowed if accompanied by a playing adult). An open section for ages 18-49 will be added if 6 or more commit in advance, contact the organizer if interested.

Format: 4 round Swiss. Rounds G/75, d5: One ½-point bye before last round, commit by end of registration. Sets available, please bring clocks!

Prizes: Trophies to 1^st – 3^rd; additional class or age trophies depending on advance entries. 1^st place WVCA member and WV resident will be WVCA 2023 Senior Champion and nominee to US Senior Championship (Irwin Invitational). A Prize fund after expenses will also be awarded. Top over 60 and over 70 prizes of $50.00 guaranteed.

Entry Fee: Advance entries are very much appreciated. EF $40 for entries received by 11/1/2023, $50 hereafter. Mail entry with checks payable to Harrison County Chess Club, P.O. Box 4338, Clarksburg, WV 26302. On site entries, cash only. Advance registration can be done at Chessregister.com. Each Paid entry will receive a box lunch if registered by 11/1/2023.

Schedule: Check-in & onsite registration Sat 9:00 to 9:45 am, Round times 10am, 1pm, 4pm & 7pm.

Guest Room Block: A block of rooms up under Harrison County Chess Club, the rate will be 80.00 plus tax per room per night. The tax on the guest rooms is 13%. The guest will need to call 304 842-5411 and ask to make a reservation with the block Harrison County Chess Club. They will need to call by October 25, 2023 to get the special rate.
