Hello all --

Nothing like a major storm to galvanize the TVC community into action. We've spent the last two days putting away outdoor furniture, toys, plants in pots, tying down the garbage and recycling dumpsters -- anything that could become a weapon in a high wind. Folks have been making runs to the grocery store for groups of us, while others have been tracking down batteries and getting gas for one of the generators.

For those of us w/ extra needs our neighbors have volunteered to be in contact with us throughout the event however long it lasts -- which hopefully won't be too long. In the best of worlds we won't lose power and the street crews will clear away downed trees in a couple of days. The worst? Well ... it'll be the 17th century for a few days... not too bad ...

I hope Sandy breezes past you and that you and your families and your community are well throughout the coming days. Are you all in touch with each other about preparations, etc.?

Be well! Be safe! Don't float away!

Onward!

Best --

Thanks for this note Ann,

Really good to hear how your community is coming together to prepare for taking care of each other in the storm. I wish all the WVC folks safety and comfort during the storm. I'm in Seattle today and heading to New Orleans where I'll be until Friday. So it looks like I'll miss the storm. I'll look forward to catching up through the meeting minutes and future socials. It was nice to attend the Earth, Bread, and Brewery gathering last Thursday. Big thanks for Neysa for pulling it together.

Had a lovely day with family and friends, but now the wind is here.  Yikes!  I hope you are all safe and sound!

Thanks, Ann, for being in touch and continuing to share your experience and wisdom with us.

Peace to all,
Abby
