The Linda G. Johnson Award was established by the West Virginia
Chapter of APCO in April of 2007 as a memorial to Chapter President
Linda Johnson. The award recognizes the essential role
telecommunicators and communications directors play in public safety
and acknowledges their commitment to varied models of excellence that
display the dedication and contributions to our industry.

All employees of public safety telecommunications are eligible.
Determination of the award will be based on an outstanding or
exceptional service to the 911 community. Examples include an
achievement, particularly high quality of work, a creative idea or
innovation, etc, expressed in some action within the nominee's work
that can be shown to have an exceptional impact upon a PSAP or the
911 community.

The identified contribution(s) may have resulted in a wide range of
identifiable outcomes, including, but not limited to, actions that
have had an impact on the WV Chapter of APCO, community outreach and
education enhancing public perception of 911 call centers, enhancing
the quality of the dispatcher work environment, exceptional attitude
and customer service, etc.
