Hello everyone,
I am resending some of the notes from earlier in the week with updated information:
1) Parking—Campus Security is asking for people to park in the Boiler House Lot and walk up the steps to the library. The Boiler House Lot is behind the Boiler House Theatre. If you have a handicapped license plate or hang tag, there are designated handicapped parking spaces near the library. People are also asked not to park along the hill by the library as these are either "no parking" area or they are for staff (and are so marked). Legitimate parking spaces are marked with yellow lines.
UPDATE: If folks come onto campus the way the directions say, turning onto Sycamore Street at the statue (CVS and a gas station are across the street from the statue), after they turn off Sycamore Street onto campus, they will need to go up the hill (the campus road is a one way road) past one end of the library and follow the "loop" to the right, then down the hill past the other end of the library and one end of the Science Center, then continue following the road past the other end of the Science Center. Just before the stop sign, turn right into the large parking lot behind the Boiler House Theatre.
2) Food—We will head to the campus cafeteria for lunch.
3) Directions to Davis and Elkins—Directions to campus can be found at http://www.davisandelkins.edu/conference/direction.cfm.
4) Campus tour map (shows how to get to the library and to the Boiler House Lot) can be found at http://www.davisandelkins.edu/admission/campustour.cfm.
5) Our keynote speaker has changed. Provost Victor Thacker will now be giving the address--he kindly stepped in for President Smith after he had to back out at the last minute. Kudos to him!
I am enclosing an updated program, including the breakout sessions. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.
Looking forward to seeing you there, and many, many thanks to Jackie Schneider and all of the people at the Booth Library for their help and support.
