Hi,

Sometimes editing tracks is quite hard beacuse of long map loading times. Every zoom in and out loads sections again. I guess browser cache has something to do as Google Earth loads faster.
Is there any way I can speed this up?

I also noted that elevation seldom works (service fails) but whrn it works results are too sharp, meaning that they would need a low pass filter to keep it more real. This is shown on the very sharp profile edges and in the trotal amount of distance going up (easily doubling).

Thank you for this awesome  app.

Regards.

Hello
Maps are provided by 3rd party services, WTracks does not control them. Speed may depend on the map you selected (top right button on the map), as they come from different providers. Which one are you using? Try different ones.
I'm also using a 3rd party service for elevation. It is a free one with limited bandwidth, and it looks like WTracks is exceeding the allowed quotas.
Only workaround I have for this is that you create a free Google developer account, a dummy project, a Google map api key, and activate payment in Google developer console. Then enter the Google api key in WTracks settings. Take care, Google will charge you, but it should not be expensive for a common usage. You can check Google pricing for the elevation api.
I'm trying this on my side right now, I will have better idea of the cost next month.
Thanks for your feedback
Olivier

Hello! ... I have introduced in the settings an Apy key from Google but the elevation service still does not work ... Maybe it is something that does not work correctly ... A good day!

Hello
In https://console.cloud.google.com/google/maps-apis/api-list , check you have activated "Maps Javascript API" and "Maps Elevation API"

Alternatively you can try with an https://openrouteservice.org/ API key. See pinned message in this group.
