Here's the file. The first tab is the original data. The second is the one I scrubbed. I added a date column but that is the extent of my data mining skills. Then I deleted everything before 6/16/2013 as none of it applied to the Jay Z album. Then I kind of skimmed the rest and deleted ones that did not relate to Jay Z. The yellow highlight is in another language but looks like it is for Jay Z (idk how useful this will be for us since I'm sure sentistrength does not know other languages). The red highlight is a negative comment that stood out to me. The green highlight is a positive comment that stood out to me.
So it seems to me the commercial during the NBA game started the hype. Then slowly other things came along like a scavenger hunt to find out the songs on the album and then some lyrics were released which kept the hype steady. It also seems like since Samsung bought 1 million copies, on the release date the album will automatically start off as platinum and there were lots of comments on how this can change the music industry and RIAA standards. Also, almost half of the data was posted in the past few days. After skimming all those posts, I am hyped up about it. Great marketing by Jay Z!
I'll pull another one in the AM before I get on my flight so we can see what happened overnight. I think there is going to be a ton of stuff that happens overnight and tomorrow!!
