I will be attending the ACJS in San Diego.  I am a life member.  I am presenting a paper on the exciting government initiatives to put Less Law, More Order into action.  I am also considering doing an exhibit booth, particularly if I could find a partner with whom to share the cost and the time – the application has to get there by 31 December.

Here is the paper title

Harnessing Evidence to Prevent Violence and Reduce Victimisation

Facing continuing gun violence and Mexican drugs, city streets will run with the blood of more innocent victims unless we fundamentally change our approach from reacting to preventing crime. Irvin Waller is an internationally recognized expert in crime prevention and victims’ rights who authored the book Less Law, More Order: The Truth about Reducing Crime (Manor House, 2008).  He will talk to ways for State criminal justice planning to stop violence, using examples of how the English language version of the book influenced national policy in England, the Webb Legislation in the US, and an investment of half a billion dollars in Alberta, Canada.
