Hello,
We are reaching out from the Playspace Program team at Horizons for Homeless Children.
Horizons’ mission is to improve the lives of young children experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts and help their families succeed by providing high-quality early education, opportunities for play, and comprehensive family support services.
We are writing to share information about our Playspace Program and the ongoing need for volunteer support. Playspaces are trauma-informed spaces created and operated by Horizons within family shelters. They are filled with books, toys, arts and crafts materials, and developmentally appropriate activities that give children a safe place to play, use their imagination, build relationships, and simply be kids.
Our Playspaces are made possible by dedicated volunteers, called PALs, which stands for Playspace Activity Leaders. PALs visit once a week to play with children, support positive routines, and create meaningful connections during a time of transition for families.
We would be grateful for your help in spreading the word about this volunteer opportunity within your community. We would be happy to send additional information, flyers, or schedule a brief virtual meeting to share more about the program and ways to get involved.
Thank you for your support and for helping us connect more volunteers with children and families across Massachusetts.
Warmly,
The Playspace Program Team
