Health FOCUS is a conference organized and run by Wayne State SOM
students, addressing issues that impede the delivery of adequate
health care to urban children. Health care professionals, students,
community representatives and others will attend to share resources
and help discuss solutions.

Attending the HealthFOCUS conference will:

let you meet residency directors from programs such as
Pediatrics, Internal Med, Med/Peds and OB/GYN

engage you in exciting workshops about the urban youth, with
topics such as street drugs, being homeless, sexual responsibility and
child abuse
*
let you learn more about the much debated HPV vaccine during a
panel discussion
*
help you to gain lots of pertinent information about our urban
youth while attending a CONFERENCE that would look great on your CV!
*
Allow Pre-Meds to ask med students questions during the pre-med
panel, tour the med school, and have lunch with the dean of admissions
himself, Dr. Silas Norman
*
Is an excellent networking opportunity for professional and pre-
professional students in medicine, physical therapy, occupational
therapy, pharmacy, law, education, social work, and nursing.. just to
name a few!

Online pre-registration is $10 and helps guarentee your workshop
choices!
Registration at the door jumps up to $15
-your fee includes a Mr. Pita lunch complete with 7" sandwich, chips,
cookies and a drink AND a bagel and muffin breakfast!
