Hi Friends!

Ok, I now recognize my error, as nearly everyone has responded to the self-indulgent wordiness of my email - but not really to its actual content.  So I'm going to try to write with simplicity.  Goal - effeciency (Sorry Russ - but perhaps we can reignite the great-but-never-realized Bacon Off...just give me time to give notice to my doctor).

Here goes.  I am wondering if anyone wants to give Hetticks a place to sleep on the night of the 1st of January, which I am told is New Years Day.  I am also wondering if any person or persons is planning to sit and watch a lot of college football bowl games on that day.  If so, can I come?  I will be bringing chips and/or salsa and/or whatever snack you like a lot and I will also be bringing my wife (she is very pretty...but I won't share her - only the chips/other).

Thanks Dan for the green light (this is like saying "thumbs up") on crashing at your place on the night of the 31st.  We have sleeping bags, which means I can bring an extra or two for anyone who needs one.  What time will we have to leave the next day?  Are you planning to watch a lot of college football bowl games that day? (sometimes they have math-related commercials...).

Thank you all for reading this email messege.  We (Sara [the pretty wife] and I) like all of you a lot!

Merry Birth-of-Jesus Day,
~Nate

PS...I'm sorry to sound like such a grubby, mooching friend, but it seems that that's what I am.  Just remember that Jesus will probably give you more treasure in heaven (which will probably be really cool and good), and remember that I have access to chips and/or salsa and/or a snack item that is to your liking.

I checked with the Empress Carpenter last night and she thinks the switch to New Years Eve would be fine.  Lodging is available for all as long as a sleeping bag and floor space is all you require (*note the hosts only have 3 sleeping bags - you may want to bring your own*).  We just got new carpet (no Lola please, sorry Moe) so the floor actually shouldn't be that bad, as far as floors go anyway.

I think mid evening (post dinner) kick off would be fine and we can have a snack and drink buffet to keep us satisfied past the midnight hour.  I'll put out a RSVP call (with the date change) on the XA group list and then we'll get an idea of how much food and beverage are required.

Since Nate and Russ called off their bacon eating contest - I think the literary throw down is the next best thing.  Tell the little lady congratulations for us Russ and enjoy yet another glorious WSU graduation ceremony.  If you feel up to it, charge the stage and steal the ceremonial mace.

HAHA It's funny because you said:   " Darth Trevino:... I truly love you and miss you, brother.  (And no, that doesn't give you license to kiss me when we see each other.)"  Which  means you are totally gonna get tongued by Trevino. If not on your mouth, surely somewhere on your face!  It would have been better not to have even mentioned it!  HAHAHAH..Trevino, just try and save it until I get there so I can put the pic on the WSU XA Google site!

See ya all at the Carpenters on New Years!

:)melissalemanski (in Moe's voice)

P.S.  Dan and ELiz (Dan, I sure hope you're not in the doghouse for this great idea that has elicited so much enthusiastic response) now that so many people are attending, what would you like us to bring?  Each their own alcohol to share?  Each their own snacks to share?  Each their own main dish to share? Let us know!

I thought about our Google Group while we were all discussing the
Great Hettick Road Trip of 2007 via email and thought it HAD to be
driving Russ nuts, poor guy. LoL. I was right. We all really do
appreaciate this site Russ, at least I do!
