I think we should cancel our Wednesday meeting on the 29th so those who are interested (me and anyone else) can attend the Garmin meeting.

---------------------------------------------
GEEKS tutoring

Are classes staring to get hard? Would you like a little extra help? GEEKS offers group and one-on-one tutoring sessions. During "Drop-In" hours, work on your homework in the GEEKS Rooms, Wallace 118, and ask a GEEKS tutor for help when you need it! Check the GEEKS website to register and to view the GEEKS calendar, www.wichita.edu/GEEKS

---------------------------------------------
Maple demonstration

A demonstration of math software Maple will be given on Friday, Feb. 10, from 3:30-4:45 pm in 123 Wallace Hall by Dr. Yang. Everyone is welcome.

---------------------------------------------
DBF flyoff

The teams are building their production prototypes in preparation for the team selection flyoff. The flyoff starts on Monday, Feb. 13. If you would like to help build, the teams will be down in the Design Lab in the basement of Wallace Hall over the next week. If you have any questions, contact Troy at (316) 737-7393.

---------------------------------------------
WCES Engineer's Week Banquet

The Wichita Council of Engineering Societies (WCES) annual banquet is Thursday, February 23 at the Beech Activity Center. The evening starts at 5:30 with the engineering fair, dinner at 6:30 and the program at 7:30 p.m. For more information visit http://wichitaengineers.net. Tickets are $5.00 for CoE faculty and staff if purchased in the Dean's Office by Feb. 13 at 4 p.m.

---------------------------------------------
IEEE Explore training

Need help learning how to search for journal articles or conference proceedings, or want to find out about the latest engineering e-book options? Stop by the table outside Wallace Hall 123 on Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 2-4:30 p.m. You will find cookies and drinks, an opportunity to sign up for door prizes, and a chance to ask questions of IEEE representative and WSU librarians. A formal training session will be held from 2:30-3:30 in Wallace Hall 123. Please contact Lyndsay Smanz at 978-5210 or lyndsa...@wichita.edu for more information.

---------------------------------------------
Garmin to visit campus to hire engineers

Did you know that Garmin hires engineers? Come to the town hall meeting in Engineering Building 211 on Feb. 29 at 12:30. Find out about Garmin and opportunities for employment and get free pizza!

---------------------------------------------
Graduating seniors need to file for graduation

Are you graduating Spring 2012, Summer 2012, or Fall 2012?  Have you filed for graduation?  Engineering seniors are required to file for graduation at least one semester prior to graduation.  That means potential Spring 2012 graduates should have already filed in the Fall, and potential Summer/Fall 2012 graduates should be filing NOW.  To file for graduation, log into MyWSU, choose the Student Resources Tab, click Application for Degree in the Graduation Links tab, and follow the prompts.

---------------------------------------------
Reminders

ACM has meetings on Mondays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm and on Wednesdays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

* Updated degree course sequences (check sheets) are available online on the CoE website under Advising. www.wichita.edu/engineering

---------------------------------------------
To submit items for the Tuesday Newsflash, if you need access to the CoE Blackboard site, or to be removed from this mailing and the CoE Blackboard site, contact samantha...@wichita.edu.

I'm fine with that. I'll plan to get that up on the website as an
announcement this weekend.

Glad to see the ACM meeting reminder lists the times, but hoping that
the room number will be included on the next news flash email. :)

I think Chris emailed Samantha Corcoran about that, but I'll check with him the next time I see him.
