Dear friends, artists, vendors, supporters:
The inquiries about the next World Sacred Music Festival continue to
roll in, and I'm delighted at the sustained interest in the festival.
However, at this point I do not know when or if the festival will
continue. Because of the state of the US economy and other factors, our
sponsoring organization, Interfaith Works (IW), has been doing some
prioritizing and financial re-assessment. As a result, the plans for a
series of events throughout 2010 was unable to come to fruition. And at
this point, I've yet to hear when or if IW will be supporting a 2011
WSMF.
I'm sorry I don't have more answers for you. If you would like to show
your interest in and support of the World Sacred Music Festival, I
invite you to contact IW at

I'm not asking you to pressure IW; they are a relatively small
organization with part-time staff and a tiny budget, and they deserve
nothing but praise for supporting the WSMF for the past five years. As you might guess, the festival takes a huge
commitment from IW and dozens of volunteers (including myself; the festival has no paid staff).
The festival is proud of its record of bringing diverse
artists/musicians/dancers/workshops to the Olympia area, and is proud that we have a track record of making money for IW. We could not
have done any of this without the strong support of IW. We hope to continue
the festival into the future, but at this point we, like you, are waiting.
All the best,
Scott Stevens
