Hello!
Although the World Sacred Music Festival in Olympia has been quiet since our 2010 event, that doesn't mean we haven't been working. We have an opportunity in December to do a small evening show, and I'm sending out the word to gauge interest from artists.
The show would take place the evening of
Saturday Dec. 10 at the Worthington Center on the campus of Saint Martin's University in Lacey, just outside Olympia. We're looking for two or three complementary performances that could fill a 2 to 2.5 hour show time. Of course, we're looking for music that fits into a "sacred music" theme.
This event is again sponsored by Interfaith Works (
http://www.interfaith-works.org ). We'll be looking for other sponsors, but the bad news is that at present, we do not have funds available to pay artists. We're not happy about that, and we will work with you on selling CDs and otherwise helping to make it worth your while, but we realize that many artists cannot or will not perform without pay. We understand, and we hope that the festival will in the future have funds available to compensate artists for the skills, knowledge, and spirit expressed in their music.
If you are interested in being considered, please let me know as soon as possible. We're on a tight time frame, and will be looking to finalize the event as soon as possible.
Please share this information with any other world/sacred/ethnic artists you may know. And let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Scott
