Dear friends:

Thank you for your continuing interest in the World Sacred Music Festival in Olympia, Washington, USA. Just a quick note today to update you on what's happening with the festival. We're currently in something of a holding pattern as our sponsoring organization, Interfaith Works, takes some time to look at financing and organization to get the festival on firm, sustainable footing.

I am happy to hear from artists interested in performing, though you'll understand that I cannot extend any specific offers for performing at this point. Please watch the festival website for further updates, and I'll be happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

I expect the festival to return in some form in 2011, and I hope to see some of you there at future events. Past audience members, performers, and volunteers have made it clear that this kind of festival -- sharing the music, dance, and art of diverse faith traditions -- is needed, valued, and cherished. And there's no such thin as a "spiritual recession."
