Should:
http://groups.google.com/group/wsgi-security-announce
also be killed. I know you have used it, but it hasn't exactly been
used much and isn't widely known about. People will just use
comp.lang.python(.announce) or the WEB-SIG groups. At least thought it
is not full of spam now as I think it used to be.
Other groups that deserve to be closed are:
http://groups.google.com/group/mod_python
http://groups.google.com/group/mod_python-in-apache
http://groups.google.com/group/mod_python-research
http://groups.google.com/group/modpythontr
I have tried in the past before to contact administrators of some
these to take them over and stop the spam flow and potentially kill
them off, but the list owners never respond. Thus would require
somehow contacting someone in Google to get something done but getting
Google to do anything about Google Groups is generally not that easy
and most requests I have seen just get ignored as does the constant
spam problems which could potetntially be easily addressed if they
bothered to apply their Google mail spam filter to Google Groups. One
gets the impression that Google doesn't care about Google Groups and
its search indexing often breaks and takes a while to be fixed.
