Six research positions are available at the European Centre for Soft
Computing (ECSC) located in Mieres, Asturias, Spain [1] (We received
it from Berkeley Initiative in Soft Computing (BISC))

(http://www.softcomputing.es). These vacancies correspond to different
Research Units of the ECSC for positions of Associate researcher,
Postdoctoral researchers and Research assistants. Each position has an
associated e-mail address. Applicants should send an e-mail (to the
corresponding address) including their curriculum vitae.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

POSITION 1
----------

POSITION: Associate Researcher
RESEARCH UNIT: Cognitive Computing
TOPIC: Research and development in the field of computational systems
able to process the information and communicate with people using the
Natural Language.
This is a multidisciplinary field related with Fuzzy logic,
Linguistics,
Computer Science and the other areas belonging to Cognitive Science.
DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate will work close to the Principal
Researcher sharing tasks and being able of substituting him when it
was
required.

POSITION 2
----------

POSITION: Postdoctoral Researcher
RESEARCH UNIT: Cognitive Computing
TOPIC: Research and development in the field of computational systems
able to process the information and communicate with people using the
Natural Language.
This is a multidisciplinary field related with Fuzzy logic,
Linguistics,
Computer Science and the other areas belonging to Cognitive Science.
DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate will work in the development of
techniques to produce linguistic summaries from data obtained from
sensors.

POSITION 3
----------

POSITION: Postdoctoral Researcher
RESEARCH UNIT: Intelligent Data Analysis and Graphical Models
TOPIC: Intelligent Data Analysis
DESCRIPTION: Development and industrial application of data-mining
methods in situations merging different kinds of uncertainty. Use of
the
statistical methodology in the objective validation of the developed
solutions.

POSITION 4
----------

POSITION: Research Assistant
RESEARCH UNIT: Intelligent Data Analysis and Graphical Models
TOPIC: Knowledge Representation and Discovery with Graphs
DESCRIPTION: Creating, updating and mining graphs focused on the
development of new methods for the integral analysis of large graphs
(in
the framework of a European project).

POSITION 5
----------

POSITION: Research Assistant
RESEARCH UNIT: Intelligent Data Analysis and Graphical Models
TOPIC: Computational Chemistry
DESCRIPTION: Development of methods for retrieving information about
reactions and reaction patterns from publicly available sources and to
devise evaluation schemes and heuristics to found (partial) reaction
paths.

POSITION 6
----------

POSITION: Research Assistant
RESEARCH UNIT: Applications of Fuzzy Logic and Evolutionary Algorithms
TOPIC: Real-world Applications of Metaheuristics and/or Fuzzy Logic
DESCRIPTION: Applications of ant colony optimization, evolutionary
algorithms and fuzzy logic/fuzzy systems to fields such as single- and
multi-objective combinatorial optimization problems in industry,
visual
science map design and mining, or data mining.
