Hiring Freeze Update

Hello all,

As many of you have already read in the newspapers, the Governor has
lifted the statewide hiring freeze. Although this is true, after
careful deliberation, WSDOT has decided to continue with our current
process of hiring only for mission critical and public safety
positions until the legislative session concludes.

We do have some positions open for recruitment on our employment page
at www.wsdot.wa.gov/Employment/Jobs. All of these positions must go
through an exemption process before they are approved to go on our web
page. I understand that some of you may be disappointed that we have
not jumped into our normal hiring routine. Please be aware that this
was not an easy choice and the final conclusion was made to ensure
that WSDOT remains a stable agency that efficiently and effectively
Keeps Washington Moving.

That being said, we are continuing to hire for our mission critical
positions and have recently published new announcements on our
employment page. If you haven't viewed the WSDOT Employment Page in
the past week or so, I would encourage you to take a look.
