Two Weeks To Go!

Have you entered the Commonwealth Essay Competition 2013 yet?

It's only two weeks until the Commonwealth Essay Competition closes for submissions on Wednesday 1st May. In the past couple of weeks we've received entries from all corners of the Commonwealth, including Canada, Jamaica, Mauritius, New Zealand and Pakistan. It's wonderful to see such a variety of entries!

The competition celebrates and nurtures creative writing and is open to nationals and residents of all Commonwealth countries who are 18 years old or younger.

If you haven't started your entry yet, don't panic! Plenty of advice, including exemplar entries from last year's competition, can be found on the Royal Commonwealth Society website. For more information, click here.

Rules

The Competition is open to nationals or residents of all Commonwealth countries and territories.
Special dispensation applies to entrants from Hong Kong, Fiji and Zimbabwe who are entitled to enter the Competition.
Entrants must select a Senior or Junior topic depending on how old they are on 1st May 2013.
Entries must be written in English and be the original work of the writer.
Entrants must submit an entry form alongside their entries and complete all the mandatory fields.
The maximum word-counts are 1500 words for Senior entries and 750 words for Junior entries.
Entries will be disqualified if they fail to meet these requirements.
