Dear Affordable Housing Professional,
Nancy Cole, a former AHMA board member, needs our help. As you may know, Northstar Apartments in Everett suffered a devastating fire in 2010, and 44 families were displaced. Reopening of the apartment building will happen this summer. Compass Health is seeking help in their “Adopt-A-Room” program to re-furnish the apartments for the residents. Here is how it works.
They are inviting groups, organizations, and individuals to adopt a room at Northstar Apartments which houses their community’s homeless individuals.
The rehabilitation is scheduled to be completed in late June/early July. The Compass Health Housing and Development teams will work with everyone participating to keep them informed of the timeline and will coordinate the delivery of your furniture donation.
A typical donation includes these items:
Single Bed
Bedding
Dresser
1 small table and 2 chairs
Kitchen items
Decorations
See the attached flyer if you want to help in this awesome project. It is a chance to directly provide much needed resources to people to help them rebuild their lives.
