Breaking News! The Senate just released their version of the Capital Budget today and allocated $30 million for the Housing Trust Fund, a far cry from the $60 million dollar investment the House set in motion in their version of the Capital Budget last week. Please email your senator today, and ask them to revisit their budget negotiations, and match the $60 million dollar investment.
There is still time to take action, but we need to act now! With only two weeks left of the regular session, lawmakers are racing the clock to complete the budget by April 24th. A special session will likely convene if the House and Senate budgets vary too greatly in size or by key programs; however, there seems to be momentum in Olympia to finish on time which might be due to the public’s expression of frustration with the federal budget gridlock.
We need to defend a $60 million dollar investment in the Housing Trust Fund!
The Trust Fund is a critical funding source for affordable housing in our communities and a wise capital investment, creating jobs to support our state economy now, when we need it most. Please help us get this message to your Senator.
What You Can Do and ask them to invest $60 million dollars in the HTF. that you will not quit until they make the right decision. Forward this email to your friends, family and co-workers. |
Will you be One of a Thousand? Thanks to you, 554 actions have been taken and we are well on the way to meeting our goal of 1,000 actions by April 24th!
Let's build this community together!
In solidarity,
Moque
