Dear WSBA Community,

I’m thrilled to share several exciting updates as we look ahead to an incredible 2026 season!

🚀 2026 WSBA Membership Drive Is Now Open!

We’re kicking things off with a Cyber Week Special—and it’s a good one. Join here https://bikereg.com/wsba

  • Buy your 2026 membership before December 31, 2025 and pay only $35.
  • On January 1, the price increases to $45.
  • Act now, save a few bucks, and lock in your support for local racing!
  • This year we will give out numbers sequentially…so sign up soon to get a cool, low number!  Number 1 is already gone…I was the first to sign up. 😉

Remember, every single penny of your dues directly supports bicycle racing in our region. WSBA is powered entirely by volunteers, and your membership helps us deliver a stronger, safer, and better racing experience. You can see our financials on the WSBA site under our tax filings – look for the 990 forms for full transparency.

Where Your Membership Dollars Go

  • Race numbers: we have the coolest stretchy cloth race numbers! Sign up to get a set. We also pay a small stipend to a member of the community to send all of these out. It’s a lot of work and more that worth the stipend paid.
  • Race Equipment:
This year, in partnership with Tour de Bloom, we completely refreshed our radio fleet.
    • Next season we’ll have all-new digital radios—a huge upgrade for officials, promoters, and racer safety.
    • If you're a radio geek, you know how big a deal this is. If you’re a racer, you’ll feel the difference in smoother, safer race operations.
    • We also pay a storage fee where we keep our equipment and super cool equipment trailer.
    • We offer a small stipend to a member of our community to oversee the equipment storage and check it out and back in.
  • Regular Equipment Refresh:
From tents to timing gear, we keep essential race equipment up-to-date for promoters who rely on WSBA resources.
  • The Rainy Day Fund:
A safety net for promoters who face unexpectedly low turnout due to weather or other issues—helping ensure races survive tough days.
  • Grants & Support:
We fund initiatives that grow and strengthen our racing community.
  • Championship Events:
Your dues help us host championship races and provide jerseys and medals worthy of the athletes who earn them.
  • And so much more!

I hope you’re proud to be part of this community—we’re all in this together, and your membership truly makes a difference. Go sign up today!

Board Elections

A couple of months ago, we opened applications for new Board members. Our Nominating Committee has been hard at work and is excited to present a full slate of outstanding new directors.

I am genuinely thrilled about the new energy and fresh ideas these individuals will bring. We will introduce each nominee during the meeting—you will be impressed.

Executive Team Elections

Immediately following the Annual Meeting, the newly elected Board will hold its first session to select the 2026 Executive Team, including a new WSBA President.

Next year, WSBA will have new leadership, and I couldn’t be more optimistic. The person stepping up as a likely candidate for President is exceptional and ready to take our organization to the next level.

A Personal Note

As I complete my third year as President, I am deeply proud of the organization we inherited and even more proud of what we, together, have built since. There is new life, renewed energy, and a bright future ahead for WSBA.

I will miss the day-to-day involvement, but I’ll still be out there racing—and I hope to stay connected with all of you.

Voting

All WSBA members are welcome to attend.

  • Each team receives one vote. Please make sure at least one member of your team is in attendance at the WSBA annual meeting.
  • This year’s only voting item: the new Board slate.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Whether you're racing, volunteering, supporting, or cheering, your involvement is what makes WSBA special.

See you at the meeting—and on the start line!

With enthusiasm,
Scott
