Hello all!!
 
WSB met this morning for a productive start to our year.
Sally,Florence, Lama, Naz and Debora attended.
 
First: We all miss Sarah and wish her the best and success. She has done an amazing job and we will be hard pressed to find someone of her caliber, energy and ability. Sarah, we still owe you salary and hope you will continue to assist during the transition period.
 
As Sarah's departure is unexpected we will have to modify some of our plans:
 
1. We will cancel the networking event of the 23rd at Arijee Café. Sarah can you contact them?
Amanda, can you pull the announcement from the newsletter?
 
2.  We will go forward with the event on the 19th at the Hilton Inn but change the topic to orientation to Riyadh and networking.  "Survive and Thrive in Riyadh: How to make the most of your life in the Kingdom."  We will meet this Thursday when Marie is back to see if this is viable
and if we can get organized in time (pretty sure we can). Please send contacts for the Hilton and add the Orientation flyer with the date and location to the newsletter.
 
PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU HAVE HANDELED REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENTS!!!!
HOW DO WE KEEP TRACK OF WHO WANTS TO ATTEND!
 
3. We will postpone the job fair. Just to much and with the current climate still unsure in regard to spouses working no sense to "poke a sleeping bear" and draw attention to ourselves. But we will let it die a silent death and just not go forward with promoting the fair. Will target January for new date.
Sarah can you contact the Golf course and copy me to tell them postponed?
 
4. Gala:  Will be fabulous. We will interview an event planner this Thursday to help us get all organized.  Sarah, please send us the names and contacts of the ladies who volunteered to help with the ball. Fund raising and sponsorship, decorations, entertainment etc.  Also, if you have drawn up  sponsorship packages for the gala so we can start to get companies to give raffle prizes and big donations. Please send any of your ideas and the contacts of the Italian DJ.  WE WILL MISS YOU!!!!
 
5. We need to go over what advertisement payments are up to date and which need to be followed up. Perhaps Sarah/Sally and Deborah can have a call to go over.
 
6. Amanda/Sarah:  Amanda can you help to assume some of the admin duties Sarah has been covering?  We can compensate you as need be.  If so, Sarah can you do handover to Amanda of what needs to be done? Website,Facebook, event registration.
 
7. We have people wanting to advertise in the newsletter and website (Horray!!).
Who is their contact?? Pricing, who has been tracking etc.
 
8. And most important:  NEW DIRECTOR!!!  Sarah I don't know if anyone can fill your shoes but if you can think of someone even remotely qualified please send our way. 
 
Everyone else, keep a look out. We may split the job to director/admin/events.
Sarah after working soooo hard please give us your advice on how to move forward with the position.

*Jobs being posted and found
* Facebook great success and used all the time
*Group organization improved and By Laws drawn up
* most successful community newsletter in the kingdom
* great events/outreach and brand recognition of WSB
* Second high profile gala ball scheduled
 
Really impressive. Really impressive.
 
I want to thank Sarah for all she has done.  Phenomenal.  You have taken the position
and made it your own and pushed WSB forward to things we would not have done.
 
So, everyone well done and off we go to a new season.

no way?? ok will tell them - so sad to hear that :( why not contract someone to do it?? are you sure??

we have docs/contacts/everything there in the GALA folder - I can walk someone through it....i am so so sad :(

i am here to help with the transition and will be tending to emails and working with you as close as I can...i have lots of ups/downs....will do the best i can!

I just went ahead and added Lisa and made you (Florence) and Deborah owners....as owners you can go in and manage.....just go to https://groups.google.com/ and go to the WSB group....
