Incollege, I was never quite certain what I wanted to do with my life beyond having a family of my own. I took an interest in computers and design, and spent quite a few years as a freelance graphics and web designer. After college I was blessed to meet and marry a wonderful man named Zack. When I gave birth to our first son, my design business became too big for me to find the time to maintain, so I gave up my clients and just focused on my little family for a while.
I love Little Monkeys Crochet. I've made 3 of her Jenny Slouch hats and they are so cute and super easy! I even adapted one for super chunky yarn (Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick) and it still turned out awesome and easy (was super quick too). Y'all keep it up! ?

Cooling on the 5 Little Monkeys mattress was excellent. Throughout my cooling tests, I felt no significant heat retention around my body. The mattress did a fantastic job at dispersing heat, keeping the surface of the mattress cooler.
From 0 to 1 minutes, we recorded a temperature decline of 4.1, this is a little better than the average of 3.9 from 0 to 1 minutes, (based on all of our mattress tests to date). We saw a fairly typical heat dissipation step down from minutes 2 to 5. Nothing incredible, but not bad either.
Children will experience a far more balanced level of overall sinkage, given their lighter body weights. However, as children get older and into their teen years, the more dramatic hug could be a factor for some.
The 5 Little Monkeys mattress has a moderate level of motion transfer. In our tests, we measured 10.35 m/s of acceleration range. This is nearly double the average of 5.78 m/s based on all of our mattress tests to date.
A moderate level of motion persists up until 0.28 seconds, with a secondary spike at 0.57 seconds. However, by 0.57 seconds all energy has been expended and motion transfer levels return to near zero.
Response time was extremely fast on the 5 Little Monkeys mattress. In our tests, we measured 0.2 seconds for the mattress to mostly recover and 0.3 seconds for a full material rebound.
As a result, the 5 Little Monkeys mattress is significantly faster than the average recovery speed. Generally, cheaper memory foam is far slower to respond. Faster responding memory foam typically indicates better foam quality.
Support on the 5 Little Monkeys mattress was excellent. Throughout our battery of tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. According to the manufacturer, there is no weight limit on the mattress.
However, much beyond that and you will simply run into support and pressure relief issues. At 200+ pounds you will sink straight through the relatively soft comfort top layers and into the denser support foam.
The cover of the Five Little Monkeys mattress is removable, machine washable, and stain / water-resistant. It is made of organic cotton that is OEKO-TEX certified and has a zipper closure for easy washing or stain treatment.

The problem is deeply embedded in a history in which black people are compared to monkeys or apes. Though not as prevalent as it used to be, there is a reason why some footballers throw banana peels at black players as opposed to apples and oranges.
The cartoon begins at midnight during a rain storm in a house full of books. A tiny devil emerges from a copy of Dante's Inferno and stalks through the room, coming across statuettes of three good monkeys that have come to life. They sing a song about their virtue, "speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil."
The devil calls to the monkeys but is rejected with a repeat of their song. He grabs a pair of peanuts from a dish and uses them as maracas, inviting characters from other books such as Rip Van Winkle and Black Beauty to help him create music, using the song and a trail of peanuts to lure the monkeys away. The monkeys follow him, singing and eating the peanuts, until a woman from one of the books puts on a sultry belly dancing performance that makes them remember their virtue. They rebuke her and reprise their virtue song, but have already been lured close to the Inferno book, which the devil tries to drag them into.
The characters in the other books hear the monkeys cries as they try to escape the cackling devil, and rally together to save them. Staging a military assault by turning the items around the room into artillery, they chase the devil back into the book.
Now safe, the monkeys return to their perch and sing their song once more, covering their mouth, eyes, and ears as they go to rest. The "see no evil" monkey uncovers his eyes and gives the audience a wink.
No entertainment strip of bars and restaurants is truly complete until there is at least one establishment serving up amazing pizza. The Grove has Pie Guys. South Grand has Pizzahead. Cherokee: Yaquis. The list goes on.
When I walked into Three Little Monkeys last week, the first thing I noticed was Top Gun (the original) playing on a TV on one side and a Queen concert on the other. I had no idea the pizza parlor's whole vibe was the 1980s and 1990s, but I was delighted to see it.
The restaurant's color scheme of neon pink and turquoise will no doubt provide serious dopamine hits of nostalgia for anyone who watched Legends of the Hidden Temple or birthday parties at the Discovery Zone. The ambience is made even brighter by two walls of windows looking out onto the bustle of the Morgan Ford business district.
The Rices have kindly set up a Sega Genesis system attached to an era-appropriate Sanyo TV so that Gen X-ers and older Millennials can play NHL 95 as if they're back in their friend's basement after school while waiting for their orders. Their children, nieces or nephews can watch in disbelief, marveling at how much space televisions used to take up.
Despite that last paragraph, I assure you that the throwback elements of Three Little Monkeys is a vibe rather than a gimmick. It's the sort of place you could make a regular hangout spot without the novelty of it wearing off.
That's in no small part because the pizza is excellent. When I stopped by last week, the only slices on offer (yes, they have pizza by the slice!) were pepperoni, sausage and cheese. All three were fantastic. The airy, crunchy crust still had just a little bit of oil at its edge, interfacing perfectly with the sauce and cheese. The basic toppings more than did the job.
My only disappointment is that I didn't bring any quarters with me. Along one wall, the restaurant boasts a handful of classic arcade games, including Tapper, a game I'd never heard of and seems to involve pouring beer for thirsty patrons the way Space Invaders has you shooting down alien ships. Judging by the Anheuser-Busch logo on the side of the game, the beer company must have had a hand in its creation, a piece of branded content from well before anyone ever put those words side by side. It looks like the sort of game you'll want to play exactly once.
Which is the opposite of Three Little Monkeys, which pizza aficionados of all generations will want to come back to time and time again.
Three Little Monkeys is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
The staff carefully select songs with repetitive words and phrases and predictable actions. These songs are frequently re-written to increase repetition, simplify language, or add parts. While singing, the children practice using all communication modes including speech, gestures and use of augmentative and alternative communication and assistive technology (AAC/AT). We emphasize actions and add fun sound effects to ensure children remain engaged as they learn the parts and sequence of the song in this therapist-led activity.
Children often naturally move their body in rhythm with the music, which makes it easier to encourage actions related to the words in the songs. Children love to sing songs over and over and this provides them more opportunities to learn the words. It also ensures that children using assistive technology (AT) have many chances to practice operational skills such as activating switches or retrieving messages. Once they learn their part, children have additional opportunities to practice timing their responses in a fun, engaging context.
Language Focused Curriculum for Preschool by Betty H. Bunce (2010) serves as a resource for our staff in determining age appropriate expectations and a developmentally sound continuum of goals and objectives.
The California Department of Education has adopted a set of learning standards or foundations that describe optimal growth, development and learning for all children and provides strategies for achieving each goal, best teaching practices and considerations for a well-designed educational environment. The Bridge School implements these standards in our preschool program. This activity addresses the following goals and objectives found in the California Department of Education Preschool Learning Foundations.
This tool serves two purposes in the preschool planning process. It is used to monitor student outcomes and to inform curriculum development. As we rate the various measures or learning progressions, we can document the tools and supports being used to achieve progress. This activity addresses the following indicators from the Desired Results Developmental Profile Access (DRDP-Access).
