I wrote this to prove I CAN use other meters BESIDES iambic pentameter.

I reworked the last line.

This is NOT THE POEM for Bob Stanley's next homework Assignment!  Jill

Holocaust Survivors  (Antibacchius meter, Dactyls and Trochees)

Two hundred forty-five thousand Jews

are living today, though Hitler slated them to die.

Four hundred ninety thousand arms are lifted

gratefully to the sky.

What a testament,

that these thousands are alive.

Children of the Holocaust, I cannot fathom

how you managed to survive,

subsisting in darkness—

carrying your hunger like a gift.
