Does Ocean Wonder?

Does ocean wonder about land
and people? Is that why
it pulls them under,
to study them?
When rocks and bodies
break into pieces,
does ocean teach them
how water rides overhead
as clouds but tries to return?

On land, rain flows underground,
joins snaking rivers of aquifers,
reaches for ocean.
Is ocean working on a long-range
plan, to turn this world
into one majestic ocean?
