Hi all,
Last week, there was an essay in which a new speaker's quote started in the next paragraph, even though the essay continued being about the lines above it.
And I questioned as to why those 2-3 lines (with only a short quote within them) could not be added to the paragraph above it to make it a continuous storyline.
Thinking back, I thought at some point we had discussed that it was Okay to have a new speaker's quote if it was only one line. That it could be integrated into the paragraph in a continuous way. Is this not true or is my memory taking a vacation?
Just wondering,
Liz
