Dear Group:

I decided, reluctantly, that I need all my morning time to prepare for this stressful visit. My landlady is nice, but very ill. Her deceased husband was the worst landlord I ever had. He let things go, ignored requests for repairs--for years--and when he did do repairs, they were badly done and caused additional problems. But I won't say all this to her. I'll let her see for herself.

Why did we stay? The surroundings. The potential this little farmhouse had. The RENT. Very low by Sonoma County standards. And we always had animals. And over a thousand books. And all of Matt's paintings. Someday we will have to face the Purgatory of moving. But not today.

Next week is Staff Day. So I may miss next week too. 

Am I retired yet?
