WriteCapture2 issue with external doc.write

Hey folks. I'm running into an issue where a specific set of third-party ad tags are not working correctly.  When delivered normally, they work correctly, but when delivered async and written via writeCapture2, they do not.

The external content includes an external script, which is written to the page, but the contents of that script do not appear to be parsed or executed. I was able to reproduce this on jsfiddle, but I'm not sure where to look to troubleshoot further. I read something about using the done() callback for scripts loaded from an external domain, but that seemed to be directed at writecapture, rather than writeCapture2.
