merge by company name

Hello everyone
I am trying to merge a
dataset with Compustat/CRSP by company name because the dataset has no common
identifier.
Could someone let me know what would be the most efficient and least error prone way to do this?
Any advice is highly appreciated!

Try using a name match. Download the fuzzy excel adds in and use excel
