FYI the shower; a little late for this thread.  We had that bad sulfur smell in the hot water at our summer place (well water); a new anode rod in the water heater would kill it for a while, but it wouldn't last the while summer.  We got a powered anode rod (about $90) which has cured it all summer.  Still get a little smell if the water in the pipes sits for a week or so, but it's 99% better.

I think that would help, but the true reason for both the smell and lack of water pressure is perhaps even sillier...turns out, cleaning a shower head once a year vs. once a decade makes a difference....
