Chromecast is a digital media player developed by Google. It is a small device that connects to your television or display through the HDMI port, allowing you to stream content from various sources directly to your TV.

The Chromecast works by receiving media from your smartphone, tablet, or computer and then streaming it to your TV. It uses your home Wi-Fi network to establish a connection between the casting device and the Chromecast device. This way, you can easily play online videos, movies, TV shows, music, and even display photos on your television.

Hey everyone. I just received word from our internal team and it looks like our casting article was updated a few days ago. From catching up on it, chromecast is not fully supported with Meta Quest, so there will be some issues that may come up while trying to cast. If you're not able to cast from your primary account to chromecast, I highly recommend submitting a bug report for our engineers to flag.
Hi since I've bought my quest 2 I've been unable to cast it to my tv or any tv infact. I can easily cast to my phone no problem but no matter what I do it won't give me an option to connect to my tv. I've made sure it's connected to the same WiFi and I've also press other device on the cast to option but even after that nothing comes up. I don't know what to do and it's been like this since I've bought it so I'm not sure if it's defected or if there's something I can do. I know for a fact my tv isn't a problem because I can cast YouTube and Netflix without a problem but it's just the oculus app that doesn't show my tv as an option to cast to even though its connect to the same WiFi.
Hi again! We just wanted to check in since we haven't heard back from you here. We hope that the info we provided was able to help get you pointed in the right direction. If you still need some assistance with casting, please let us know!
I am experience the exact same problem. We got the Meta Quest 2 for Christmas and it won't cast to our Vizio TV (with built in Chromecast), but will to our Android phones. The headset and TV are on the same channel network, and using Chromecast from our phones for other apps (YouTube) works. Really frustrating for the kids
Hey AJ24rio, thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We totally get why this bothers you and we want to help you get back to casting your device to the TV! If you're having issues trying to cast:
If the issue still persists after trying this, visit Google's Chromecast Help page. This is because while TVs with built-in Chromecast or other smart functionality may be supported, but compatibility can't be guaranteed with all models.
I have 3 Vizio models with built in Chromecast the exact same, just different sizes. My Oculus can cast to the two smaller sizes, but not the larger tv. No mesh, all on the same wifi network. All the same IP. All the same firmware on the TV's. I was able to cast to all 3 TV's with no problem until about July when my Oculus updated, I could no longer cast to the largest tv.
Hey there, @MMipp! Not to worry, we'll be happy to assist you in getting this sorted out. We understand how being unable to cast to your TV can be a bit confusing. Rest assured that you're in good hands, and we'll get it fixed with your help. We'll start with the requirements you'll need to have in order for it to work and start casting!

We're in the middle of a prolonged internet outage and I thought I might be able to download some content to my phone over mobile data, disconnect mobile data and connect to my home's wifi network, and cast content to my Chromecast.
The thing is, neither the Google Home app, nor any app with built in cast (like Prime Video) can find any of the Chromecast devices on my home wifi network when I am connected to it (and mobile data is disabled).
I have tried power cycling everything. There's a solid white light on the Chromecast and I can see it's open Wifi SSID and connect to it. I cannot cast to it whether I'm on the home SSID or the Chromecast SSID. It's a 2nd Generation chromecast that I want to use, but I cannot see the Chromecast w/ Google TV or the Chromecast Audio either.
Thanks for updating this Community thread and glad to hear that our support team was able to help you. Let us know if you still have questions and concerns otherwise, I'll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
I have a Google TV dongle (Chromecast HD) connected to my TV. Casting YouTube videos from Windows laptop works fine. Now I installed Brave also to my Android Phone (Galaxy XCover 5). I can not figure out how to cast. Can not find anything related to cast. Any ideas?
Regards, Escom
Ok, thanks! I have Brave in my Windows laptop and Chromecasting works fine. So I thought that it would work also in Brave browser for Android smart phone. Since this feature is available in Windows browser, I just wonder why is not also in Android browser.

Let's see if this will help you. On your iPhone, tap Settings > scroll down and tap Pandora > under Local Network, disable and then enable this option (Note: If it was disabled to begin with, be sure it's enabled)
I have had this same issue for years! It usually resolves itself and will work fine for a month or two but then bam all over again. It's extremely frustrating. I prefer to cast directly from the Pandora app versus Google Home voice controls as I have more control over music, stations etc, however when Pandora app won't cast I begrudgingly use GH as it always work. Right now however I am having issues with that. I am tech savvy guy and have tried all of the troubleshooting, unlinking/linking devices, accounts etc. When it works it's great as I have a mix of devices all over the house (2 Vizio sound bars, JBL portable, and a couple minis). I don't want to leave Pandora as I have all my stations finely tuned but if Spotify works perfectly I may be making the switch very soon.
I've been using Pandora on my Google speakers for years and never had a problem. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for years now. Today I switched over to annual billing from monthly (pandora plus) and now I can't make Pandora play on any of my Google speakers on my home. It responds verbally playing the pandora channel and total silence. When I then ask what the name of the song is it only responds by saying, "Pandora is playing right now." when it clearly is not.
I have power cycled each speaker. I have also unlined Pandora to my Google account and relinked it. I'm out of ideas, and am irritated that this happened k. The day the annual billing commenced. I use the voice control way too often to have to come up with a different solution.
I too upgraded to a paid Pandora plan today and suddenly can't cast to my Google Chromecast with Google TV, but I was previously able to cast seamlessly when I had a free Pandora account. This is a very strange bug, handicapping user's experience when they begin paying for Pandora.
I've been trying to Chromecast Pandora from my Google Home App to my tv. I've been able to do this without till just the other day. Now it plays YouTube Music, but I don't even have an account. I have linked and unlinked several times. I've tried changing defaults and going back to Pandora. Nothing is working. Ideas for me?
Yesterday I was on my free trial and I could cast to my Google home speakers. Today I upgraded to continue using the service and now I can't connect to my Google home. I've Uninstalled Pandora app, unplugged my Google home, restarted my app, cleared the storage on the pandora app under settings, gone offline and back online it just keeps telling me it ended the session with my Google home.
Same issue here with the cast icon disappearing from my app. I last cast to my Google Nest speaker on 7/1/2021. Came back to work today and tried to start casting.... to no avail. I updated to the newest app version today, conducted numerous power cycles on phone, disconnected and reconnected Nest speaker from power source and even tried to uninstall and reinstall Pandora app to no avail. Please assist. Have a blessed day everyone!
I've had a problem casting to my google tv boxes. Pandora is the only app that I can't cast. I saw your post saying you had a glitch but I have not been able to cast for several months. I have an old chromecast fob at another house and can cast fine to it.
I have been happily casting Pandora to my Chromecast devices for years using my phone and tablet. However, I have not been able to connect for the last few days to any of my Chromecast devices (Chromecast Audio, Chromecast Ultra). Pandora will see the target device, attempt to connect, but then say, "Your session has ended" after a few seconds of silence.
I have attempted to fix it by restarting the devices and my phone (Samsung S10). All devices are current with software updates. Other casting services (Amazon) cast just fine from my phone to all Chromecast devices.
I've tried it again now and got only slightly better results. I have several Chromecast Audio devices. After testing with several of them, I was only able to connect to the last known session in the "Kitchen" Chromecast. However, I could only play, pause, and skip; I could not change the Pandora channel to any other than the last channel the device was using. I then power-cycled the device, restarted Pandora, and attempted to cast again. This time I got the message, "Your session with Kitchen has ended." I was able to successfully cast music to Kitchen using other non-Pandora casting services.
